{Color Therapy} Navy and gold
I know these are supposed to be on Thursdays, but I’m practicing patience with my posts! I am trying to put a lot more time into them so that you will actually enjoy what I have to say, and will want to come back! So here is some color therapy for your weekend!
This week’s “Color Therapy” is inspired by the portfolio of one of my Twitter contacts, Tobi Fairley. I am loving the fresh, bright color palettes lately, especially paired with crisp, classic patterns, as seen in the gorgeous photo below.
If I had the guts (or the cash) I would put one of these in my living room in a crisp navy blue and white. Love it!!
If I was to paint a room in this palette, I might start with navy walls with bright, white trim, crown moulding, and a chair rail, or two navy walls and two white walls, all with yellow accents throughout the room. Or navy and white stripes would look gorgeous! Yellow is always a nice paint choice as well, nice and sunny!
And here’s some Flickr Finds for you in that lovely palette. Mmmm…IKEA.
Enjoy!

Here’s some TGIT loveliness for you! The weekend is almost here!
I was checking out the new posts at one of my favorite blogs and Ez posted this video for “Her Morning Elegance” by Oren Lavie. I’ve never heard the song, but now I am hooked – and the music video is sooo cute and creative. Enjoy!
Ez likes the scarf scene and underwater part. I really like when they’re dancing and when it looks like she’s floating away but he brings her back. Darling!

Remember how I keep talking about my red accents I want?? Well, I was finally able to redeem my IKEA gift cards! I was in desperate need of some side tables for my living room, so I thought I would try out the “Lack” series for some Scandinavian modern design touches to my space. I have very little white in my living room, though, so I don’t think anyone would recognize my style as “Scandinavian” modern, but I still love it so much!! We ended up getting 2 side tables, a coffee table (also Lack, but not red – it’s the black/brown one), a wardrobe for my daughter’s room, and 4- 11″x14″ picture frames for the living room and our daughter’s room. All for a pretty little bargain!
So…here is one of the side tables. Bare right now, but I’m searching for some knick-knacks to put on them. I think I’ll go with white ones. What do you think??
I have my eye on these cute little coasters at etsy, to replace the marble-tile-sample stand-ins I have from when I was in school.
And I was thinking maybe something like this as some accessories:
Here is what my husband decided to decorate them with. Nice.
We recently acquired a new surround sound system, and I’m really hoping we can find another way to set them up. They sound great, though!
Any thoughts??
