Welcome to Wedding Week!!

Ahhhh, weddings!  But wait – isn’t this a ‘home interior design’ blog?  Well, it is, but not exclusively!  What is the fun in that?  It is my blog…so I can talk about what I want to talk about, right?  I did just post a silly Halloween Jib-Jab video (that I’m still cracking up over!)…so I guess I’m allowed!  Well then why weddings?  Because if you know me, you know that I love to get my hands in all sorts of different projects and one of them is wedding styling!  Let’s think of it as over-the-top ‘temporary decorating,’ shall we?

Plus…save your applause…my own wedding anniversary is this weekend!!!  And to celebrate my upcoming wedding anniversary, and to corral some awesome wedding ideas for a few upcoming weddings that I am helping style, I am officially declaring this Likely Design Wedding Week!!  I could have sworn that I heard somewhere that October was the 2nd most popular wedding month, but the general consensus through Googling is that it is the 5th.  I love my October wedding date – I had to work around fire season to choose our date, but it was a PERFECT day with gorgeous weather – and I’m so excited because I’ll be talking about all things weddings this week!  I love weddings!  And don’t worry…the Lieurance-Christensen wedding photos and details will be posted this Friday!

To start things off this week, I want to do a round-up of some places that I (along with thousands of others!) find wedding inspiration – and get to drool over some serious wedding-related eye candy.  All I can say is that I wish blogs were around when I was planning my wedding because there is some serious inspiration out in the blogosphere.  Not many people that I know ‘in the real world’ seem to know much about the blog world, or how to navigate it, and I love, love, love to open their eyes to this amazing and inspiring place!

And Etsy…oh, Etsy – where were you 6 years ago?!?!!?  Etsy is so great for made-with-love little wedding details (and you can always find a great deal!) and one found treasure can lead to another, and more ideas will just keep rolling in.  Anyway, these are a few sites that I recommend to new brides-to-be when starting to plan for the big day!

I know that there are literally thousands of other inspiring wedding blogs out there that I haven’t included on this list, but this is a short list of ones that I’ve found some great ideas from and bookmarked recently.  I’ve been on the lookout for outdoor styling ideas, rustic wedding themes, hand-made and hand-makable (is that a word?) accessories, DIY wedding projects, and easy-to-re-create sweet little details that will make these weddings memorable.  Because it’s all in the details, right?
