Hello, New Friends! {Likely Favorites}

I just want to post a quick little note to say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ to my new advertisers (see them in the right column!).  You guys rock!  I twittered a little Tweet, and posted a little note to my decor8′s Blogging Your Way friends and I had a great response!! Thank you to everyone who wrote me about becoming a new Likely Design advertiser! (Not sponsor – Holly taught us that we shouldn’t use the word “Sponsor” about our advertisers. :) .

And now — on to the big show!! Welcome, welcome!! And be sure to go visit each and every one of them — their sites are GREAT!!

First up is Mahogany Ridge Guest Ranch – a GORGEOUS vacation house in beautiful Jess Valley, California. Want to get away? And by away, I mean AWAY! It’s very peaceful, quiet, and perfect for unplugging and rejuvenating. Plus it is immaculately decorated in traditional rustic fashion. Beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Second is an ad for the talented and professional Ms. Jennifer Enz – a California real estate agent who works out of United Country Real Estate in Alturas, California. Okay, okay…she is one of my very best friends in the world, so she deserves a spot here. :) She knows her stuff, though!

Third we have CalFinder; your one-stop source for nationwide remodeling contractors. Plus they offer ideas and tips on remodeling, a picture gallery, remodeling library, and they can hook you up with a certified contractor that is right for your job! And don’t forget to check out their blog!!

Next is B’s Wig Shoppe! How cute is that?!?! And her blog is even cuter – all of Hannah’s posts will make you smile! She’s got a lot of new projects in the works so keep an eye on her!!

Follow along and you’ll find your way to Bloom: a photo e-course by the talented Rachel B. If she can teach you to take pictures half as well as hers, then the course is well worth your time! And believe me – I LOVE e-courses!!

Kasia Blue Handcrafted Jewelry is one click you won’t want to pass up! Her made-to-order sterling silver or gold gemstone jewelry is absolutely stunning — some pieces have a vintage feel, which I absolutely LOVE!

The next button is for Salty and Sweet; and shop on Etsy that sells modern laser cut mobiles in the greatest patterns ever!! She’s even got a Michael Jackson design that is discontinued (and she’s only got one left in her shop – someone please go buy it!!).

And don’t forget to check out Rocket Assembly which sells postcards of Cat’s original sketches, as well as some great paintings!! The sketches are unlike anything I’ve seen (in a good way!!), so I know you’ll love the creativity of her designs! Plus if you buy their 2009 postcard set you’ll be entered into a drawing to win an original sketch!

And last but not least (what? there’s more?!) – you might have noticed the rectangular banner at the bottom of all of the post pages for the “Hella Handmade” San Francisco Bay Area Art Fair which will take place in December!! It sounds like a great event, it makes me wish I lived closer to the Bay Area. And thank Ana from Rearranged Design for setting it up!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit their sites, thank you (to my new advertiser friends) for your support, and thank you all for reading the Likely Design blog!

The Best Dressed Room in the House – and FREE art!

The Best Dressed Room in the House – and FREE art!

Have you heard of “Feed Your Soul,” the free art project on Indie Fixx? I honestly cannot remember how I found it, but I’ve run across it a few times and they add new downloadable art every month. Great, right? You just download the PDF files to print and frame! Or in my case, print and pin up with a thumb tack because I have no spare frames – something I’ve always thought I need a good stock pile of. Do you have any good online sources I should know about?

I downloaded a few different prints to keep on hand, but I just had to put at least one up – so where else but the best dressed and most finished room of the house? Harper’s room of course. I love the little pops of green that I have around her room, so I printed out this watercolor tree print by Angela Vandenbogaard. I just took a tack and pinned it right up over her dresser. Isn’t it cute?

New art in Harper's room

When you visit the site, what you’ll find is a lot of whimsical art that is easily placed in a girl’s bedroom, but I am seeing a lot of art like this in the main areas of the home all around the blogs these days.

There are lots of different pieces to choose from.  It would be a great way to add an inexpensive frame collage on a blank wall, especially when printing the pieces in various sizes!  Enjoy and have a great week!!

xo, L.

PS – this is my 100th post!!  I smell a Likely Design 1st GIVEAWAY coming up!!!!  Stay tuned!!!

Welcome to our new home!!

Welcome to our new home!!

I’m having a lot of fun navigating around here — similar to the old Likely Design, but I feel like there’s a lot more that I can do here.  Ah.  And it feels nice.

Grab a cup of coffee (or tea) – I love “Made by Girl’s” blogs and coffee print – and get to clicking!  I’m working out a few little bugs still, but I’m enjoying playing with my very own customizable blog.

I seriously feel so free – the possibilities here are endless!! :)   And if you like my template, scroll to the bottom to check out the website on where to get it!

Window Shopping @ Teo Jasmin

Window Shopping @ Teo Jasmin

I was recently introduced to a lovely French company called Teo Jasmin, who specializes in digital prints on canvas, cushions, and furniture, and I just had to share some of my favorites from their newest collections!  How fun are these products?  I especially love the pink union jack prints – I seem to see them everywhere these days.

201-UnionJackRose_300x430I’ve noticed that, in my personal design preferences, I like a little unexpected quirkiness.  For example, have you met Bob?  He lives on our living room wall:

Bob Marley Wall Decal
It’s Bob Marley, singing into a microphone, if you can’t tell. We always have to explain it – but we still like him!  I think something like this (below) would be right at home in my house!  I actually have that Beatles record…I should find a way to display it.  I also love the settee – and the combination of the traditional lines and the graphic print.  It’s unexpected, in a good way.

And who wouldn’t love to bring a little European memorabilia into their home with some fun throw pillows and prints?  I’ve never been to Europe, but these might make people think I have, ha!

How cute is that Fiat??  I’d drive one if I didn’t have to cart 2 large dogs around…or have a car-seat in my ride.  Four doors are essential for moms, but it’s fun to dream!

This one is a little wild (even for me), but look at that face!!  And he/she is wearing a crown…quirky and adorable.  I’d put it in Harper’s room.  She loves “bops” – her word for dogs.

I have to have this one…gotta love Abbey Road.  And the Beatles.  This image does remind me of the movie “Vanilla Sky,” though…anyone else??

Don’t you just love window shopping?  I left the credit card in the iceblock in the freezer for now, so window shopping helps me satisfy my cravings to be a good American and spend, spend, spend!  Except this company is in France… :)

Don’t forget to visit TeoJamin at their website and check out the goods!!  There is lots more to see!  Have a great week!!

xo,

Lindsay
