11 More Months Until Christmas!
I miss Christmas. I love my home (we purchased it in July 2008) – and we’ve been working very, very hard on it to make it finished but I think Christmas hid what we had left to do on it! We took Christmas decorations down a few weeks ago and now the house feels too bare. My main living area color scheme consists of medium gray walls, dark brown wood laminate floors and touches of green, ivory, black, shades of brown, and a little blue. I’ve realized that I miss the red from Christmas. I think that it would be a nice shot of color with the gray, black and white. What do you think? I might invest in a set of red pillows, and on the opposite end of the room I want to get some black frames for black and white photos – and I’ll mat them in red! And I’m in desperate need of some side tables, so I’m thinking some simple IKEA Lack ones (in red, of course!).

Thank you, Martha!
My husband, Glenn, and I did an amazing thing this past weekend – we planned ahead! We found some yummy recipes from marthastewart.com and bought everything to make them, along with our old stand-bys (we make a mean Tater Tot Casserole! Let me know if you want that recipe!). All fresh ingredients and our grocery bill was actually pretty reasonable for everything we picked up.
We’ve made 2 of them so far (and for some reason they both used dijon mustard??) and they were SSSOOOO GOOD!! We rarely make pork anything, but Tuesday night I made Glazed Pork Chops with Smashed Potatoes and Green Beans, and last night I made the Herb-Crusted Salmon with Spinach Salad. So yummy and sssooo easy!

I am a wannabe. I admit it. I want to be crafty so bad I can’t see straight! I discovered YouCanMakeThis.com and everything that I have wanted to learn to make is on there and more! Maybe I can finally open my own Etsy shop now, hehe!

…I am a recent Interior Design graduate. I attended a university and received my Bachelor’s of Art in the wonderful profession that I call my purpose in life! I am, however, living in a town of approximately 200 people. Yes, you read it correctly; 200. I am taking my time to get figure out my niche, plus I have a new baby girl, so I’m just moseying along at the moment. That is why I am here, as are you if you are reading this. I am trained in interior design, but I have an interest (self-taught) in web and graphic design as well. In a county with only 10,000 people in it, I think my self-taught skills are probably more than most would be able to find locally anyway – so as usual, and if you know me, you won’t be surprised – I have my hands in everything and plan to continue along those lines with my business. That is my ultimate goal – work from home to spend as much time as I can with my kid(s).
I’ll post more of my portfolio soon (yes, I have gotten a few jobs so far), but for now just trust me! And if you have any suggestions on what to write about on here, feel free to let me know!
xo,
Lindsay
